About Open Source
Open Source is where products with public code come to get seen. Apps people can install, libraries other developers build on, tools you run on your own server, and AI projects with open weights or open code all sit in this one category. Pick a subcategory, apply a filter and get to the project you need without wading through noise.
Speed is the point here. Founders and maintainers get a profile live fast, and visitors get a compact card that says what the project does and who it is for. Listings appear newest first, so fresh releases surface straight away. Switch to community votes when you want what people rate most. Votes can never be bought. Maintainers: paste your website address at /submit, check the draft profile and launch.

Open Source: questions answered
- What belongs in the Open Source category?
- Products and businesses whose code is public and which people can use, build on or run themselves. That covers finished apps, developer libraries, self-hosted tools and open AI projects. If the code is not open, a different category will suit it better.
- How do I choose between self-hosted tools and open source apps?
- Pick self-hosted tools when the main selling point is that users run it on their own server and keep their data there. Pick open source apps when the product is a finished application that people simply use, however it is deployed.
- How do I get my project listed here?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from your site, and you check and edit every field before anything goes live. Choose Open Source or one of its subcategories as your main category, which is included free.
- Can my project appear in more than one category?
- Every listing has one main category, chosen at submission and included free. A paid upgrade adds up to 3 more categories for $5, useful if a project is both a library and an AI tool.
- How are listings ordered on this page?
- Newest first by default, so recent launches appear at the top. Visitors can sort by community votes instead. Votes can never be bought, so that order reflects what people actually rate. Filters let you narrow the list further.
